MESOZOIC ERA 249 - 65.5 Million Years Ago Edit
This is the most mighty and famous Era of all Prehistory - mainly thanks to one Dynasty of Reptiles, that came to dominate the land for over 170 Million Years - The Dinosaurs, of course. Marked in the beginning as the time of slow recovery after the Era-ending cataclysm at the end of the Permian Period, the Mesozoic Era's first Period of three, the Triassic Period, set the scene for the void in the ecosystems devasted in the Permian Mass Extinction, to be filled by newer, more adaptable Reptiles in particular. The Mesozoic is divided into three distinct Periods; (in order left-right) the Triassic, the Jurassic, and then the Cretaceous.
