Scapanorhynchus texanus teeth (2 anterior, 2 posterior, 1 lateral, respectively)
Scapanorhynchus is a genus of shark from the Cretaceous period. It has a superficial resemblance to today's goblin skarks, and is believed to have reached 3 or 5 meters in length.
Fossil teeth of Scapanorhynchus have been found all over the world. They possess a distinctive pointed shape (although similar to that of sand tigers) and a clearly visible nutrient groove.
