Tyrannosaurus Rex, is by far the most popular and famous Dinosaur of any kind in the World. This legendary beast is often portrayed in films and television programmes that usually depict the fierce animal as a killing machine that is mighty in every way. Tyrannosaurus Rex, means, 'Tyrant Lizard King', in Latin.

Tyrannosaurus Rex, was the dominant predatory Dinosaur of Late Cretaceous lands of North America and Northern Asia (although Asian Tyrannosaurus Rex, are argued by many to be a close cousin, called Tarbosaurus Bataar, being slighty smaller in some respects)
This mighty carnivore, stood 5-6 metres tall, grew to 12-14.5 metres in length, and weighed around 5-7 tonnes.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex, had fearsome, dagger-like teeth, over 15-17 centimetres long. In comparison, Crocodile teeth rarely excede 6 centimetres, usually being 4-5 centimetres.
Even though Tyrannosaurus Rex was huge, it is known that several large Theropod Dinosaurs were even bigger. Giganotosaurus, Spinosaurus Aegypticus and Carcharodontosaurus, are examples. All of these were around 1-2 tonnes heavier than Tyrannosaurus Rex, and up to 3 metres longer perhaps.

Tyrannosaurus Rex, suffered from gout due to eating too much red-meat! This is surprising because the animal would have had to have eaten a great deal whilst it was alive, as the Tyrannosaurs were a family specifically evolved for killing and consuming large herbivorous Dinosaurs.
A site where several Tyrannosaurus Rex specimens of different ages showed that it lived in packs or family groups, though there is also other evidence that they attacked each other, possibly for territory, mates, for dominance in a pack, etc. Its short form T.Rex is also misspelled as T-Rex. Despite its arms being small and stubby they were very muscular which probably helped Tyrannosaurs grip thier prey. These small forearms may have been useful in also gripping mating partners during mating, according to Palaeontologists.
Tyrannosaurus is estimated to have been physically able to run at 20mph, although there is great uncertainty for the running duration, but many experts cautiously suggest a maximum of a few minutes.
