• Utahraptor
  • Deinonychus
  • Velociraptor
  • Dromaeosaurus

These were the leopards, cheetahs and wolves of their time, and hunted on earth for over 70 million years as a usually relatively small sized carnivore, that used superior intelligence and speed to bring down herbivores much larger than themselves, in packs. Though much smaller and less powerful than the large Theropod Dinosaurs, such as Tyrannosaurus, these lightweight killers were just as dangerous when in a pack. Velociraptor is a famous Dromaeosaurid – though unlike the exaggerated size and mistaken identity of the Velociraptor population in the fictional Jurassic Park, they were actually one of the smallest of Dromaeosaurs; about the size of a Dalmatian. Utahraptor is regarded as one of the largest, once thought of as the very largest – at a relatively massive 5-6 metres long and 3 metres tall, 3 times as long and 3 times as tall as Velociraptor.
